Mid-Hudson Valley WFWP Supports Community Through Monthly Food Outreach

The Mid-Hudson Valley chapter of Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) has been seeking meaningful ways to serve the Hudson Valley community through practical expressions of compassion and partnership.

Over the past four years, Kae has cultivated a strong relationship with Pastor Joy, a Christian minister deeply committed to serving those in need.

Pastor Joy’s church provides an outdoor community refrigerator where anyone facing food insecurity may freely take what they need. According to Pastor Joy, more than 100 individuals visit the refrigerator each day, revealing the significant level of need within the local community.

On March 20, six WFWP sisters gathered at Charlotte’s home to prepare 100 freshly made sandwiches. The sandwiches were then delivered and placed in the community refrigerator for distribution. Later that day, Pastor Joy expressed her appreciation by sharing on her church’s Facebook page that the Mid-Hudson Valley Women’s Federation for World Peace had donated 100 homemade sandwiches for those in need.

This initiative provided a meaningful opportunity not only to offer practical support, but also to introduce WFWP’s mission of living for the sake of others to the broader community. Through small but consistent acts of service, relationships of trust and cooperation continue to grow.

The Mid-Hudson Valley WFWP chapter plans to continue this outreach project on a monthly basis, expanding its commitment to serve families and individuals experiencing hardship while building bridges of understanding and peace within the community.
