The Women’s Federation for World Peace – Hawai‘i Chapter partnered with SRTell (Scream, Run & Tell organization) to host an activity booth at the Hawai‘i Children & Youth Day 32nd Anniversary on October 5, 2025, held at the State Capitol, Kalanimoku grounds, and Punchbowl Street.

“Inspired by our community leaders and families, the Hawai‘i State Legislature and Governor established the first Sunday in October, beginning in 1993, as a day to honor and celebrate Hawai‘i’s precious children and youth. A few years later, a day turned into a month-long celebration!”

The SRTell hand-printing activity booth was warmly received by families. Children enthusiastically enjoyed painting their hands, while parents appreciated the opportunity to create a family handprint portrait as a meaningful keepsake. Each set of handprints included a label donated by WFWP, featuring sponsor emblems in recognition of their support. The labels were designed by Yoshie Yamada from WFWP-HI.

Prior to the event, Elizabeth Lim conducted a Zoom meeting to brief volunteers on event details and to provide training on interacting respectfully with both children and parents. Volunteers were instructed to request permission before assisting with hand printing and to be attentive and welcoming when greeting participants at the activity tent, ensuring an encouraging and supportive environment.

Although it was a full day of active engagement and volunteers felt tired by the end, the positive impact and quality of service delivered made the experience deeply meaningful for all involved.
