Candice Joe

Candice Joe is a Diné graduate student pursuing a Master of Public Administration at Arizona State University. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Service and Public Policy, with a concentration in American Indian Studies, from Arizona State University in May 2024. Driven by a passion for servant leadership, Candice continues her graduate studies to develop strategies that foster intentional, compassionate leadership within Native-led nonprofit organizations and local and state government. Her mission is to ensure that community voices are not only heard but translated into meaningful action that strengthens and uplifts Indigenous communities.

Candice currently serves as Arizona State University's 2026–2027 Miss Indigenous ASU, a Higher Education Advocate, and an Indigenous Fellow with the School of Public Affairs. In these roles, she champions educational access, cultural representation, and civic engagement while empowering Indigenous students to pursue leadership and higher education.

For more than six years, Candice has dedicated herself to serving Tribal communities through wellness initiatives, higher education advocacy, and cultural revitalization efforts. She has collaborated with local and national Indigenous organizations, including the Phoenix Indian Center and Native Americans in Philanthropy, where she has served as a lead coordinator, youth cohort member, and grant reviewer. Through these experiences, she has developed expertise in community organizing, grantmaking, program coordination, and collaborative leadership.

Grounded in her Diné values and guided by a deep commitment to service, Candice is passionate about building stronger communities through advocacy, partnership, and purposeful leadership that honors Indigenous voices and creates lasting impact.
