DISCOVER THE LEADER OF THE HEART WITHIN

The Ohio Chapter of WFWP was honored to have the National President of WFWP USA, Angelika Selle, visit the Ohio WFWP community. Representatives from Universal Peace Federation, HSA-UWC, and American Christian Leadership Conference joined in a fantastic dinner meeting on Friday night at the Akaihana Restaurant which was hosted by the owner and his wife.

The program on Saturday began at 10 am with a gathering of around 30 guests. After the greetings and prayer, the guest speaker was introduced. WFWP USA President Angelika Selle has worked in the public eye for decades. She was editor of two magazines and also is an ordained minister. She was asked to assume the position of WFWP USA President in 2010 and be a Vice President of WFWP International.

The topic of her presentation was “Discovering the Leader Within, Leadership of the Heart: What is it? Why do we need it?” She explained that there are 10 character traits that distinguish a genuine leader, including:

  1. Nurturing our Inner Calling or Passion

  2. “Being” the Change

  3. Humility

  4. Commitment and Focus - Follow the Hero’s Journey Paradigm

  5. Integrity

  6. Accountability

  7. Sincerity and Compassion

  8. Kindness

  9. Leading with the heart of a parent, a mother

  10. Actively Grow

The presentation was followed by a luncheon created by culinary volunteers and characterized by lively conversation. After lunch, the meeting continued with a musical performance. The finale was the passing of the WFWP Chairwoman torch from Nataliya Grishina to Nadya Hinson including a presentation of appreciation gifts and a group photo.

The past work of WFWP chairwomen in Ohio leaves a solid legacy for the continued work of peace and empowerment of women working together in harmony with men, children, and youth. Inspired by the outstanding example of Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, there was a sense of new beginning and increased excitement to work in an entirely new way in Ohio, using the Leadership of the Heart paradigm that was so well presented that day.
