On Friday, October 14, members of the Maryland Chapter Purse and Book Bag Drive Committee ended the 2016 project. All the bags that had not been already donated during the year, were gathered together, packed up, and taken to the Shepherd's Cove Women's Shelter in Capitol Heights, Maryland.

Mrs. Deborah Ellison, Shepherd's Cove Assistant Manager, met us and was very grateful to receive the donation for the young ladies and their children who are residents there.

The Committee would like to thank all the many donors of bags, book bags, and daily essentials to put into those bags that were collected. But even though the 2016 drive is over, the project is not over! The need to help people is never completely satisfied so long as there are those less fortunate who can benefit from the care and concern of those who have more. We look forward to working with all of you again NEXT YEAR 2017 to continue making a positive contribution to those in need.
