We are proud to announce the celebration and recognition of “National Women’s Month” on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the South Side Community Art Center, located 3831 S. Michigan Ave in Chicago, Illinois.  This Chicago historical landmark will host several components which include vendor tables, an Exemplary Women’s Awards Program, raffle games, and door prizes.  The schedule is as follows:

                                10:30am – 1:45pm              Visit vendors (1st & 2nd floors)

                                  2:00pm – 4:00pm               Awards program (raffle, refreshments)

                                 4:00pm -- 5:00pm               Re-visit vendors (door prizes)

In 1987 Congress declared March as the month we acknowledge the contributions of women in history and those present in contemporary society. Mrs. Angelika Selle, WFWP President is our main speaker from New York.  Our list of award/memorial recipients depict  various cultures, and career paths of women leaders in education, politics, health, business, and advocates for the development of our families and communities. Take a break, come out and learn of sisters who have paved the way as Dr. Margaret Burroughs, Maggie Daley, Albertina Walker, and currently Rev. Willie T. Barrow, Dr. Hak Jan Han Moon, Aung San Suukyi, Delores Huerta, Sis Claudette Muhammad, Toni Preckwinkle among others. Meet and greet with vendors eager to show their creativity  in jewelry, bake goods, ethnic clothing, home designs, gift baskets, beauty and business services.

This event is also a fundraiser for Women’s Federation for World Peace 20th  Anniversary  to be held  October 25-27, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  With invited guest Ms. Oprah Winfrey, we plan to honor WFWP founder, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, in a profound manner by financially assisting loyal members to attend and celebrate a devoted wife, mother and leader for peace and love between all mankind.

As women we are phenomenal for supporting others, but sisterhood is a show of strength and the thread that holds us together so we can write our own history.  Thank you in advance for mentioning us in your prayers, look forward to seeing you.

Sincerely,

Fannie Smith – WFWP Illinois Field Coordinator                        Patricia Fliginger – Midwest Chairwoman
