“Tell Us About One of Your Faith’s Holy Days

Each participant shared one of their faith’s holy days, explaining its meaning and how it is traditionally celebrated. The discussion offered a meaningful opportunity to learn about the diverse ways different faith traditions honor God and strengthen their communities.

The Christian Science representative shared about Easter, emphasizing the Resurrection of Jesus and his triumph over death through true love. Easter reminds believers that Divine Love continues to call humanity out of darkness and into hope and spiritual renewal.

The Baha’i representative explained the 19 Feast Days, each centered on an attribute of God, including Splendor, Glory, Beauty, Grandeur, Light, Words, Perfection, Might, Will, Power, Knowledge, Questions, Honor, Loftiness, Goodness, Grace, Patience, Speech, and Sovereignty. These occasions provide opportunities for spiritual reflection, fellowship, and community building.

The United Methodist representative introduced the six seasons of the Christian calendar—Epiphany, Lent, Pentecost, Easter, Ordinary Time, and Advent—and explained the spiritual significance of each season in the life and worship of the Christian community.

The Peace Starts with ME Alliance shared how their holy days are celebrated as a family-centered experience with God. Families dress in their Sunday best, prepare an offering table for God, our Heavenly Mother and Father, and offer a full bow together. They sing a holy song, recite the Family Pledge, learn about the significance of the holy day, and share refreshments together with God at the center of the celebration.

The sharing highlighted both the diversity and commonality among faith traditions, particularly the importance of honoring God, strengthening families and communities, and creating opportunities for reflection, gratitude, and peace.
