20th International Human Rights Summit- Education for Peace, hosted by YHRI at United Nations, NYC

The Education for Peace Summit was held from July 30 to August 1, 2026, bringing together youth delegates, global activists, government officials, and distinguished dignitaries from around the world.

Under the theme “Education for Peace,” the Summit focused on promoting human rights education through the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) as a foundation for sustainable peace, human dignity, and global cooperation.

Featured speakers included Tebogo Joy Ngoma of South Africa, Storyteller for Social Change and Founder of Brave Hearts Multimedia and granddaughter of 1984 Nobel Peace Laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu; Erika Yaneth Valazquez Dionocio of Mexico, Councilwoman of the Municipal Government; and Dr. Queen Mother Delois Blakely of the United States, CEO of New Future Foundation Inc., known as the “Community Mayor of Harlem” and a Goodwill Ambassador to Africa at the United Nations.

The Summit provided a valuable platform for international dialogue, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas. It highlighted the vital role of human rights education and youth engagement in advancing peaceful, inclusive, and sustainable societies and strengthening cooperation among people and nations.
