D.C. Awaken Retreat Report

Saturday, October 10, 2026

A One-day Awaken Retreat was held at the Washington Times building in Washington D.C., on Saturday, October 10, 2026. Expanding on the theme, “Rooted in Radiance,” 31 participants took time to consider their personal connection with Heavenly Mother, along with applying feminine leadership in everyday life, and concluded the day examining how they may be engaging in– or being distracted away from– their own feminine power. In addition to hearing from WFWP USA President, Dr. Katarina Connery, and HerTribe Education Director, Dr. Mika Deshotel, participants were graced with a presentation on feminine leadership by International WFWP President, Moriko Hori. President Hori flew all the way from Japan for an action-packed weekend of WFWP- related events, which also included being honored at a fundraising gala by the women’s non-profit, She Rises International, Inc. https://www.wfwp.us/news-articles/2026/10/20/when-she-rises-hope-rises-feminine-leadership-for-a-world-beyond-division

While the Awaken experience was shortened to accommodate for the She Rises International, Inc. fundraiser that evening, the day’s program was rich with content, personal sharing, and connection. One of the best aspects of the Awaken experience is the diversity of women that make up the gathering, who bring so much wisdom and life-experience to the sisterhood, no matter their age and stage of life. In the concluding water ceremony, each woman commented on the points that moved them and how they will go forward, renewed from the day’s experience. Their resolves included things like:

  • “Listening to my body, and taking rest when I need it”

  • “Practicing the art of pausing and listening first, especially with my family”

  • “Being reminded of what God asked me to do with my life so many years ago and doing it”

  • “Seeing more clearly how I self-sabotage, and doing my best to connect more intentionally with my inner Visionary to stop it”

When women take intentional time to come together as a sacred sisterhood, empowered to bring about true peace within and around them, amazing breakthroughs happen, which reverberate positively in every way. Please take a moment to hear what participants experienced directly through this Awaken Retreat:

“The session with Mrs Hori talking about feminine leadership really hit home for me because I am a woman leader myself in a space that is male-dominated, and I wish to see more of this balanced leadership that she talked about.”

“Being a wise woman is being rooted in all aspects of me— body, mind, heart, will, and spirit— and drawing on those strengths in the right timings. Feminine leadership is super important and essential. And the feminine aspect of God is nurturing, enveloping, protective, sacrificing, and empathetic.”

“As women we have the inherent value from God. We can always ground ourselves if we feel confused; we can use the tools we have to bring us back to the center.”

“I love this experience of embracing womanhood in the environment of acknowledgement and appreciation of all our parts.”
