WFWP Global Giving | Q2 2025: Threads of Change in São Tomé and Príncipe
This past quarter, Women’s Federation for World Peace USA was proud to send $500 to our sisters in the WFWP chapter of São Tomé and Príncipe to support their ongoing efforts for women’s empowerment. These funds were made possible through the heartfelt efforts of the WFWP Maine chapter, which raised money by selling beautiful African items during last year’s national Awaken Retreat.
Thanks to the women who joyfully gave by purchasing items or offering direct donations, your support is now fueling the continuation of sewing courses that equip women with the skills and confidence to build brighter futures.
One such woman is Paulina, a 2022 graduate of the course. After completing her training, she interned for two months at a studio led by her teacher from the course. With determination and the skills she gained, Paulina has now opened her own small sewing studio. She hopes her new venture will help her establish herself in the market and become financially independent. Paulina expressed deep gratitude to WFWP for giving her the opportunity to discover her own strength and capacity for self-reliance.
She is not alone. Several other course graduates are also finding employment and contributing to their families and communities.
While $500 may seem modest, in the hands of dedicated women like Paulina, it becomes a powerful tool for transformation. Your support truly goes a long way. Thank you for making this possible!
