Thanks to your generous contributions, a total of 27 HerTribe meetups occurred between April and June, which reached and empowered 344 women. Read below for some of the inspiring highlights from this past quarter!
Each gathering brought its own local flavor, yet common threads wove through every circle: heartfelt sharing, creative expression, deep spiritual reflection, and the power of simply being together as women seeking to uplift one another and draw closer to God.
💚April: God’s True Love Companion
In April, HerTribe gatherings across the nation centered around the theme “God’s True Love Companion,” inspired by Dr. Hak Ja Han’s (Holy Mother Han) profound message: “As God’s true-love companions, we can communicate freely with God and feel everything God feels.” Women gathered to reflect on how their lives are shaped by God’s investment, and how striving to be God’s “true-love companions” can transform daily living into a journey of divine purpose and connection.
Women explored personal stories of feeling deeply in tune with God—through nature, motherhood, prayer, and even life’s pain. Whether painting, cookie decorating, or journaling, hands-on activities allowed participants to express inner truths and experience healing and joy. Writing love letters to God was a powerful practice in multiple locations, bringing participants to tears as they felt God’s love and expressed their own. Many gatherings offered moments of laughter, honest conversation, and mutual encouragement—evidence of the spiritual sisterhood HerTribe fosters.
In Maryland, a morning of paint pouring led to open sharing, as women expressed how much they valued the safe space to be heard. Meanwhile, Mid Hudson Valley welcomed spring with laughter, tears, and spiritual reflection, as participants chose personal affirmations like “God’s heart is my heart” to carry home. Other gatherings blended creativity with meaningful conversation. In Indiana, women painted along with Bob Ross and reflected on God as the ultimate artist. Dallas participants explored how receiving God’s love can be a challenge and an important practice. In Honolulu, families enjoyed a joyful Easter cookie decorating event, made possible by thoughtful planning and childcare support. Parents and children alike appreciated the warm, welcoming environment. One mother called it “an activity that really can bring a community together.”
💐May: Messages Our Mothers Give
In May, HerTribe gatherings reflected on the theme “Messages Our Mothers Give,” inspired by Holy Mother Han’s tender words about her own mother’s love and unwavering faith. Through heartfelt discussions and shared memories, women explored the spoken and unspoken lessons passed down from mothers or mother-figures, and how these continue to shape their sense of identity, purpose, and love. Many participants also reflected on the kind of legacy they wish to pass on, whether as mothers themselves or through spiritual motherhood.
In Columbus, participants enjoyed a hands-on activity planting herbs and flowers—symbolizing the nurturing love of mothers—while learning about their uses in everyday life. The activity gave moms and moms-to-be a moment of relaxation and joy. Several groups found ways to integrate the HerTribe content into existing community settings. In Connecticut, the May theme was featured in a lively intergenerational Mother’s Day service attended by 75 people. Highlights included a humorous skit, reflective sharing, and creative writing through HerTribe’s poem activity. Worcester, MA incorporated the theme into an outdoor BBQ-style service, where heartfelt stories of maternal love and traditions were shared by both women and men. Roses and chocolates were distributed, adding a celebratory touch to the day’s reflections.
A special highlight during the month of May was a one-day Awaken Retreat in Tarrytown, NY. Bringing together 35 women ranging in age from 17 to over 70, the intergenerational event created a nurturing space for reflection, creativity, and spiritual empowerment through the lens of the Divine Feminine.
👨👩👧 June: The Greatest Happiness and Goodness in the Family
In June, HerTribe gatherings centered on the theme “The Greatest Happiness and Goodness in the Family,” inviting women—and in some cases, their families—to reflect on the bonds that anchor us across generations. Inspired by Holy Mother Han’s teaching that “all the forces of the universe work together to safeguard” the love between parents and children, participants explored how family shapes identity, faith, and the experience of home. The conversations revealed not only treasured memories but also a shared desire to be intentional about the legacy of love and goodness we pass down.
Los Angeles hosted its first-ever HerTribe gathering with a small intergenerational group of mothers and daughters. The setting allowed for heartfelt sharing on how childhood experiences with their own parents are influencing how they raise their children today. The conversation uncovered a powerful truth: the ache we feel when we’re away from family or home isn’t just about a place, it’s about the unbreakable emotional and spiritual bonds that tie us to our roots. In Columbus, ten participants reflected on their hometowns and family traditions, bringing up vivid and emotional memories. Sharing stories of parental care and lasting family closeness led to meaningful insights on what truly makes a house a “home.” In Virginia, the family theme took on a personal touch as a participant’s husband and young daughter joined in. These gatherings continued to demonstrate the importance of nurturing not only spiritual growth, but the family bonds that sustain it.
