A Big THANK YOU to Mrs. Sahara Cardenas

Mrs. Sahara Cardenas

It is with deep gratitude that we like to honor our outgoing Midwest Regional Coordinator, Mrs. Sahara Cardenas, who faithfully has served in that role from March 2021 to June 2023.

During those years Mrs. Cardenas, a professional business woman and mother of six children, made the time to reach out to our Midwest WFWP chairwomen and GWPN (Global Women’s Peace Network) representatives in her region, and also initiated various projects and activities in the greater Chicago region. Among others, Mrs. Cardenas initiated a book club discussing our Founder's Memoir: MOTHER OF PEACE, and she also put on various programs in collaboration with the Women in Ministry (WIM) of the ACLC (American Clergy Leadership Conference) in Chicago.

We are especially grateful for her leadership in heading up our national monthly Interfaith Prayers for Peace Conference Calls, where prayers and testimonies were shared on current issues such as the war between Ukraine and Russia, national concerns, as well as family and individual concerns.

Moreover, Mrs. Cardenas contributed to special monthly international on-line prayer sessions for a unified Korea, together with regional WFWP leaders from the United States, Japan and Korea.

We applaud Mrs. Saraha for her loving investment and sacrifices she made together with her leadership team, creating a strong foundation for the MidWest Region, which our new Regional Coordinator, Mrs. Grace Kisile is now inheriting and building upon!

Again a Big THANK YOU to Mrs. Sahara Cardenas, and best wishes in her new role in supporting the WFWP chapter in Chicago and the many other contributions she will continue to make.
