Rhia Nkulu
RhiRhia Nkulu, affectionately known as Rhia “Luz,” serves as the Chairwoman of the Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) Arizona Chapter. Her journey from a quiet, reserved child in the Philippines to an inspiring community leader in the United States is a testament to resilience, purpose, and transformation.
Raised by her mother after the passing of her father when she was just 11 months old, Rhia was once a shy young girl. Everything changed when she discovered the Women’s Federation for World Peace in 1992. The values and mission of the organization gave her the confidence to embrace her voice and her dream of serving others.
In 2015, Rhia assumed her first leadership role by heading the Arizona Chapter of WFWP. Her passion for connecting and uplifting others continued to grow, culminating in a personal milestone—realizing her childhood dream of becoming a radio host. That dream took shape when she promoted WFWP’s 25th Anniversary on several Spanish-language online radio platforms.
In 2017, she launched her own award-winning radio show, #BuhaybuhaysaAmerika (“Life in America”), which has since become a meaningful bridge between the Philippines and Filipinos worldwide. Through heartfelt storytelling and community engagement, Rhia has created a platform that reflects the immigrant experience and celebrates Filipino culture.
Despite the demands of working as a night shift Emergency Room registered nurse, Rhia continues to balance her roles as a devoted mother of three daughters, a loving wife, and a dedicated community leader. She attributes her strength and vision to the enduring mentorship and inspiration of the WFWP leadership, especially the organization’s Founders.
Rhia passionately invites others to join the Women’s Federation for World Peace, a movement that empowers women to fulfill their potential and make their childhood dreams a reality—just as she did.
