Exploring Women's Role in Building World Peace

The program will offer a brief introduction to WFWP, followed by the main presentation given by Rev. Juanita Pierre Louis, National Advisor of WFWP, USA on the amazing contributions of New York’s own Rep. Shirley Chisholm, U.S. Congresswoman, as a noted leader and peace builder. This will be the first of a series of events that will explore the theme of women as effective peace builders. Participants will then take part in facilitated group discussions examining how each one of us can contribute to peace building within the Mid-Hudson Valley, the greater New York region and throughout the United States.

Are you ready to start giving back to your community this year, but are unsure where to start? Tamara Starr, Chairwoman for the Albany chapter of Women's Federation for World Peace (and Team Leader for Headcount) is here to help guide you in the right direction (and even organization) on Saturday, March 19 at 11am EST.

Whether you are looking to do something from home, or help out in-person, there are PLENTY of opportunities in the Capital Region. But the purpose of this meeting will be to help you find out what is the best fit. So whether you are in high school looking for hours, or retired and you want to give back- this is the best way to help you get started. And get the chance to register to vote (or change your registration info) during the event!

Individual snacks and beverages will be served for safety.

WFWP Westchester of New York Chapter is excited to host an in-person Cornerstone for Peace seminar on Sunday, October 3rd from 1:00-3:00 pm EDT, taking place at Kathryn Ross’ house at 17 Stephen Drive, Pleasantville, NY. It has been awhile since there has been a live meeting so it will be outside with tables and chairs to be safe. WFWP Schools of Africa Raffle Drawing on December 8 in Tarrytown, NY

It is that time of year when the Westchester WFWP chapter does our part to support the Schools of Africa.  This year’s raffle drawing will take place on December 8th.  We have some great prizes!  Thanks go out to those who have offered to sell ticket books or have purchased them already.  If you have not yet participated please consider a $20 donation for a book of five tickets.  You will have a chance to circle the number on your tickets for the prizes you would most like to win.
