ON TOP OF SPAGHETTI - WFWP GIRLS, NJ AND WFWP ELIZABETH CO-HOST FUNDRAISER FOR HURRICANE VICTIMS

In Elizabeth, New Jersey on Saturday, September 16, 2017, WFWP Girls had their first event in partnership with the WFWP Elizabeth Chapter. Through the help and generosity of Pastor Darryl and Sara Franklin, they hosted a spaghetti dinner fundraiser at the Elizabeth Family Church (EFC). The girls and women hoped to raise $300-$500 to send through WFWP USA to the communities affected by the recent hurricanes.

All in attendance had a wonderful time, especially the girls. The WFWP Elizabeth officers, members, and parents invested their hearts and time to prepare an appetizing spread of different kinds of pasta, salad, and fruit. Ms. Sun Mee Atay, Youth Pastor of EFC, graced us with her excellent MC skills. The WFWP Girls entertained the audience with a praise dance they’d been working hard to perfect.

Guests included WFWP USA Vice-President Katarina Connery and her family. Another family came all the way from Wayne, NJ, and the wife’s experience at the dinner inspired her so much that she hopes to become a member of WFWP and attend future projects.

WFWP Elizabeth Chairperson Christine Rapada presented a video highlighting the tragic damages caused by Hurricane Harvey in Texas, and it was very moving to see how the lives of so many families were completely uprooted. Through the registration fees, raffle drawing, silent auction, and sales of kimchi and scented candles, we were able to generate a net profit of $302.26. These funds will help deliver necessities to people who have sadly lost everything.

Everyone had a great time, especially when one guest led the attendees in dancing to various music genres. Everyone left feeling like a winner, especially the WFWP Girls who were filled with excitement to be helping a good cause.
