PARENTS UPLIFTED IN NEW YORK CITY

The one-day event was a joint venture of the American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC), the Unification Theological Seminary (UTS), and the WFWP New York City Chapter, celebrating and honoring Parents' Day 2013. Parents' Day is acknowledged in the U.S. as a national holiday, initiated by Father and Mother Moon in 1994.

Clergy, women, and families were gathered to celebrate the occasion with inspirational speakers, musical performances, and the honoring of six exemplary parent couples. Mrs. Beryl Green, Chairwoman of WFWP New York, welcomed everyone and set the pace for the WFWP afternoon session.

Mrs. Angelika Selle, President of WFWP USA, shared in her keynote address, "Parents and Spirituality," the need for an improved type of parenting centered on "parentism." She called on the parents present to instill most of all moral and ethical values into the next generation and to create an atmosphere of peace and love in the home.

As she spoke, you could almost imagine the feminine aspect of God speaking out on issues that concern the family and man and woman's role as parents to guide not only their own children, but children in their community. WFWP USA Vice President Juanita Pierre-Louis then gave practical tools on health and healing the family, which is a prerequisite for peace.

Mrs. Nandi Bengu Moton, Chairwoman of the Georgia Chapter of WFWP, lifted up a tune that addressed the needs of the heart entitled "He's Concerned," recorded by CeCe Winans. The program ended with song, dance, massages, and makeovers for the ladies.
