Some 100 guests witnessed a refreshing WFWP transition ceremony between Mrs. Catherine Ichinohe (outgoing chairwoman) and Mrs. Shirley Chimes (incoming chairwoman) on Sunday, March 2 in Denver.

Mrs. Laurette Heppell, an outstanding founding member of the WFWP Denver Chapter, was the emcee and spoke in a clear and sure voice as she testified about Catherine and read a letter from Mrs. Angelika Selle, president of WFWP USA and vice president of WFWP International.

Another member of our dedicated team, Mrs. Hisako Geschwind, presented Catherine with a gift, a card, and flowers. There was a lengthy ovation as guests stood to recognize Catherine for her accomplishments over the last 10 years.

A beautiful picture of the WFWP founder, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, was visible on a big screen facing Catherine and Shirley as they performed the signature Bridge of Peace ceremony -- bowing to each other, exchanging flowers, and embracing. They then placed the bouquets in front of Dr. Han's picture with her husband, the late Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon.

It was thrilling to hear a radio message from Mrs. Selle's radio broadcast entitled "The Hope of Humanity Comes from Mothers." She was featured by Rev. Elma King on her program "Now Is the Time" that ran originally on www.raymanningsingers.com.

Hisako had prepared a beautifully decorated, gluten-free cake with the letters: WFWP USA on it, and it was placed on a table covered with a gold cloth. Green napkins on the gold tablecloth served to honor the colors of our one-of-a-kind women's organization.

As a list of Catherine's accomplishments was distributed, comments were received from several young ladies. One enthusiastically replied that her mother was a member of WFWP in another state and another said that when she returns to Kansas, she wants to start an initiative similar to ours. We invited her to shadow us before returning home.

We all felt it is an honor to be living in the "Era of Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon."
