CHICAGO BAKE SALE WAS A SMASH

Patricia Fliginger, Kathryn Davis and all of us of the WFWP Chicago chapter turned out to support our WFWP fall bake sale on Sunday, October 30. It was a perfect opportunity to highlight the upcoming National Assembly by engaging our community with WFWP by delivering joy, sweetness, and love in full measure. The funds raised both helped benefit chapter activities and provided everyone with an amazingly positive experience of the essence of WFWP – service with a smile!

The young ladies in the photos, or as we affectionately refer to them as our "Up and Coming Leaders," immediately pitched in. They created totally awesome original signs. They used their marketing skills to professionally man the tables. Offerings of delicious home-baked cookies, brownies, mochi, and cakes were tastefully made by ladies from Japan, the Philippines, Europe, and America, and satisfied a wide range of palates. Topping it off, cups of hot spiced apple cider and hot chocolate specialty drinks were on sale to accompany the tasty delights.

When asked about our last WFWP bake sale, one young gentleman replied, "Yes, I remember it because I begged my parents to buy me cookies!" Even some people without a sweet tooth gave donations to help make this year's event a complete success. A million thanks to all for their "heart" work and wonderful team spirit!
