TRUE PEACE STARTS WITH MOTHERS

The Bible said when two or more gather in prayer, God is there! And Dr. Hak Ja Han-Moon said, "True Peace starts with mothers." We can do something greater when we stand together as children, sisters, wives, and mothers.

Moved by all the tragic issues happening in the nation a week before July 14, 2016, (the shootings of innocent black men in Minnesota and Louisiana and the police shootings in Dallas, Texas); I was tearful and saddened to see that news plaguing the nation. I found inspiration from the words of Rev. Moon: "Forgive, Love, Unite;" and immediately created an event on Facebook to seek for people who felt the same way I did, and could join me to pray for healing and peace from all the tragedies and pain.

Only three people agreed to attend. However, despite the few confirmations, the prayer must go on! We need to plead to God to help America to be forgiven from all the killings against one another. Where there is love and unity, peace can reign!

On the night of the event, I made simple snacks thinking only five of us would be there. We met at the Peace Embassy located in Tempe, Arizona. To my surprise, the three confirmed guests brought their families and friends, and we became 14 attendees. The simple snacks were more than enough and we even had leftovers after the event.

We read together “Religions’ Mission to World Peace" a speech given by Rev. Moon. Each guest read a paragraph and we discussed what we learned. Then we stood in a circle and each prayed for forgiveness, love, unity, and healing to have peace in our land and throughout the world. That night of July 14, 2016, the same time as the National Chairwomen of WFWP USA had their retreat in Florida, we cried out to God!

As one of our attendees and a new Arizona Chapter member, Miss Asia Espiritu Dising, crowned Miss Earth Arizona 2015, and now is Arizona's Miss United Continent 2016; put it in her own words what transpired that night and posted on her Facebook wall: “On July 14, in response to all the tragic violence going on in the world, My Women's Federation for World Peace (WFWP) Family Arizona, USA Chapter and I gathered for a night to pray for the World as One Global Family bonded through Love; promoting Unity, Healing and Peace among our Nation. It was an emotional and uplifting experience, I must say! Thank you so much Rhia Nkulu for your idea to create this event and invitation - for your inspiring words.

Her post continued, “We must act NOW in compassion and unite to heal America.
Violence does not solve violence.
A life is still a life.
Our condolences go out to all the families who have suffered injustice and tragedy.
Our hearts and prayers are with you.
God bless us all.”

Yes, God bless us all as we work with WFWP to promote understanding and peace among all peoples across the globe, one Global Family under our Creator, the Heavenly Parent!
