Plant a Seed for Peace: Bringing Communities Together in New Jersey
Under theme Plant a Seed for Peace, watch it grow at home the NJ chapter of the Women’s Federation for World Peace invited the Peace Starts with Me Alliance of NJ to celebrate International Day of Peace this past weekend.
The Peace Starts With Me Alliance partnered with Peace Islands Institute NJ to take part in the Annual Peace Festival held at Milton A. Votee Park in Teaneck, New Jersey.
The alliance brought several of its signature elements to the multi-cultural celebration:
“One Human Family Under God” Vision: emphasizing that all people share a divine, shared spiritual origin from God and is meant to live as one global family. Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) invites to honor our diverse communities in New Jersey to focus on what unites us, promoting interfaith, friendship and mutual respect and strengthen families; as the primary School of Love together with the American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC)
The Peace Road Initiative: Introducing the global “Peace Road” grassroots movement born out of the 1981 initiated vison of an International Peace Highway by Rev. Sun Myung Moon. His wife the Mother of Peace, Dr. Hak Ja Han turned this providential vision into an annual call to action to continue our shared journey toward a more peaceful world while encouraging cooperation across national, cultural, and religious borders. Bridge of Peace Ceremony: Offering this signature reconciliation ceremony—developed by the Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP)—where individuals from different cultural or religious backgrounds cross a symbolic bridge making a conscious choice to move from being observers to being active partners with our promise: to celebrate each other’s heritage, protect each other’s dignity, and weave our individual threads into one unbreakable tapestry of peace.
The Peace Starts With Me Choir: Providing uplifting musical performances alongside other diverse cultural dances and performer representing Korea, Japan, China/Taiwan, Turkey, and Ghana
The festival brought together people from New Jersey and even PA, through music, food, and family activities to emphasize that peace grows when people meet and celebrate together. The global Peace Starts with Me movement was officially initiated in 2017 by the Mother of Peace, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon. She launched it as a call to action for a united voice for Peace, being guided by the Logic of Love and not the logic of power. The Peace Starts with Me Alliance is reigniting their Culture of Service in honor of Dr. Hak Jan Han’s lifelong commitment to come together as one united Family of shared values, mutual respect and interdependence. Therefor it was natural to partner with Peace Islands Institute (PII) for the Peace Festival this past weekend as they are guided by the vision of becoming islands of peace, communities in which people from all walks of life interact with each other in friendship and community service, thereby strengthening civil society based on mutual respect.
