What would the Kingdom of Heaven feel like, look like, and be like?
In the July Interreligious Meeting, participants in Colorado shared a common vision of the Kingdom of Heaven on earth, identifying several foundational principles: love, truth, God's presence among us, oneness, unity, recognizing that we are all God's children, and peace.
Additional insights from various faith traditions and organizations enriched the discussion:
Baha'i: The Kingdom of Heaven is characterized by one universal language, universal education, and a universal governing body that helps maintain peace. As Bahá'u'lláh taught, "The Kingdom of Heaven is not here yet because humanity fails to receive the Divine Inspiration from God."
Christian Science: Drawing on the teachings of Jesus and Mary Baker Eddy, participants reflected on the importance of inner spiritual transformation. Jesus taught, "The Kingdom of Heaven is within you," while Mary Baker Eddy wrote, "Keep your mind so full of peace and love that there is no door for evil to enter."
Peace Starts With Me Alliance: In the Kingdom of Heaven, our five spiritual senses will be fully awakened, allowing us to freely interact with our ancestors and friends in the spiritual world.
Father Moon: Emphasizing the central role of the family, Father Moon taught, "The peaceful family is the building block of the Kingdom of Heaven."
Together, these perspectives highlight a shared understanding that the Kingdom of Heaven begins with personal transformation, loving families, and a united humanity living in peace under God.
