WFWP Alabama, HerStory Award

Our recent gathering brought together 20 participants, including 9 guests.

The highlight of the event was the recognition of Apostle Sandria Alston for her exceptional dedication to ministry and service. She has pastored her church for 35 years and served in ministry for over 45 years. Affectionately known as “Mama,” she is a respected and trusted figure within both her congregation and the broader community, known for her willingness to help anyone in need.

During a heartfelt tribute, her daughter shared reflections on her character and impact, describing her as deeply devoted to God, her family, and her calling. She is known for speaking truth with both compassion and grace, offering guidance and correction with a spirit of love. Her hospitality is also widely recognized, with her southern-style cooking—especially her cornbread dressing—serving as a reflection of her warmth and generosity.

Her life is marked by consistent acts of service and sacrifice, including opening her home to those in need and providing shelter when necessary. She remains steadfast in her faith, living according to the Word of God and widely regarded as an anointed and dedicated servant.
