5-Minute Winter Wellness Rituals to Stay Grounded & Peaceful

Written by: Naomi Tanaka, HerTribe Creative Lead

My little one just turned two, and he’s full of energy! As a mom, I often forget to give myself a moment to just breathe. The holidays can be busy, chilly, and a little hectic, so sometimes all I need is a tiny pause to reset and reconnect with myself. These quick “winter rituals” are simple, flexible, and perfect for anyone. I do them when I can, not as a task or obligation, but as little acts of self-love. Some days it’s just one or two, and that’s totally fine. Think of them as mini hugs for your mind, body, and heart.

  • Warm up with a drink:

    • Make yourself a cup of tea, coffee, hot cocoa, or any warm beverage you love.

    • Sip slowly and just enjoy the warmth—bonus points if you curl up in a blanket!

  • Catch some sunlight:

    • Find a cozy spot near a window or step outside for a few minutes in the winter sun.

    • Let the light lift your mood and bring a little natural energy to your day.

  • 3 Deep Breaths:

    • Take a moment to pause and exhale deeply three times, letting go of tension with each exhale, and breathing in life and energy with each inhale that will naturally follow.

    • I like to focus on my exhalation rather than my inhalation.

    • When I exhale, in my mind, I say “I love you” to the world around me, and when I inhale, I say “thank you” to everything given to me.

    • It’s an instant reset for your mind and body.

  • Quick Stretch or Posture Reset:

    • Even 3 minutes of stretching can help you feel more mindful, relaxed, and present.

    • Roll your shoulders, stretch your arms, or reach for the sky—it counts!

  • If you’re feeling extra inspired, spread a little love:

    • Send a quick encouraging text or note to someone who might need a smile.

    • Leave a sticky note with a positive message somewhere in your home

These tiny rituals may take just 5 minutes, but they’re a sweet way to slow down, feel grounded, and sprinkle a little peace into your day.
