On August 25, 2025 the Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) Pennsylvania gathered over 40 attendees to honor three exemplary families with the “Marriage for Peace Award.” The event also marked the 33rd anniversary of the 30,000 Couples Marriage Blessing, celebrating couples who have remained steadfast in their commitment to faith, family, and peace for more than three decades.
Themed “The Significant Role of Family in Our Community,” the program featured an inspiring lineup of speakers, including Rev. Gloria Laurient (Ohio), Dr. Angelika Selle (former WFWP International Vice Chair), Jake Lavina (CARP NJ President), Pascal Degbey (Cheonbo Director, West Africa), Rev. Francis Catalan (FICA President, USA), Abigail Pilapil (WFWP Lucena Chapter), and Pastor Froilan Matbagan (FFWP Philippines). Each shared insights into how strong families serve as the cornerstone of thriving communities worldwide.
The celebration, hosted by Jizly Dohou, Chairwoman of WFWP-PA, also featured a heartfelt couple’s testimony, a video presentation on the transformative impact of the Marriage for Peace initiative, and concluded with a joyful cake-cutting and toast to many more years of family-centered peacebuilding.
Through this annual program, WFWP PA reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening family bonds and promoting peace, unity, and resilience within communities both locally and globally.
