Buhay Buhay Sa Amerika 8th Anniversary with Community Celebration and HerStory Award Surprise for Host Rhia Luz
Buhay Buhay Sa Amerika, a Filipino-American online radio show founded and hosted by Mrs Rhia Luz, Chairwoman of the Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) – Arizona Chapter, celebrated its 8th Anniversary with a gathering of over 300 guests and VIPs.
Distinguished leaders joined the celebration, including City of Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke, Vice Mayor Christine Ellis, Philippines Honorary Consul of Arizona Miss Jenny Ho-Vijungco and her family, and Congressman Greg Stanton, alongside community and business leaders who generously supported the event.
The evening took an emotional turn when Rhia Luz was honored with the prestigious HerStory Award. Completely surprised, she was called to the stage together with her family to receive the recognition. The award was made possible by former HerStory Awardees Mrs Glenda Lambert and Romina Rahman, who worked together to celebrate Rhia’s impact.
Adding to the heartfelt moment, Vice Mayor Christine Ellis delivered a special message of support, highlighting Rhia’s dedication and noting that “the Founder of WFWP, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, would be so proud of what Rhia Luz has accomplished.”
The celebration not only recognized the individuals and sponsors who have supported Buhay Buhay Sa Amerika through the years, but also served as a fundraising effort to sustain the educational scholarship fund the program created to support students in the Philippines.
In her message of gratitude, Rhia Luz expressed deep appreciation to the Women’s Federation for World Peace for their encouragement and unwavering support throughout her journey.
