WFWP Arizona Women’s Brunch

On Saturday, May 31st, the Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) Arizona hosted a heartfelt and empowering Women’s Brunch at the Peace Embassy in Tempe, AZ. The gathering welcomed approximately 30 attendees, including women of all ages—mothers, grandmothers, aunties, friends, and even young children—creating a warm, multi-generational atmosphere of connection, creativity, and service.

The morning began with a delicious brunch that set a welcoming and joyful tone. As guests settled in, conversations blossomed, new friendships were formed, and the sense of community grew stronger. The event was gracefully led by Romina Rahman, who served as the Master of Ceremonies. With warmth and enthusiasm, she guided the morning’s program and shared the purpose of the gathering: to create handmade, uplifting cards for women residing in shelters due to domestic violence.

The event featured two powerful and inspiring presentations. Rhia Nkulu shared her personal journey and the reasons she joined WFWP, emphasizing the importance of empowering women to become peacemakers and community builders. Her words touched many hearts and underscored the impact of women working together with purpose. Following her, Glenda Lambert gave an informative presentation about the Hope Women’s Center, an organization based in Phoenix that supports women recovering from domestic violence. She detailed the meaningful work being done to help survivors rebuild their lives and find hope again.

One of the most moving parts of the event was the creative service activity: making handmade cards filled with messages of love and encouragement. Attendees of all ages took part in the card-making, pouring thoughtfulness and care into each creation. The process was not only therapeutic but also deeply meaningful, allowing participants to express empathy and solidarity with women facing hardship. In total, 55 beautiful, heartfelt cards were created and will be delivered to Hope Women’s Center to be shared with women in need of emotional upliftment.

The event received glowing feedback from attendees. Many shared how powerful it felt to contribute to a cause in such a personal and tangible way. One participant described it as “the BEST EVER event,” while others expressed eagerness to learn more about WFWP and how to get involved with organizations like Hope Women’s Center.

WFWP Arizona looks forward to continuing this meaningful work and building upon the spirit of unity and care sparked by this event.
