Mother’s Day Celebration

Written by: Ayano Adrien

The event was a heartfelt celebration of Mother's Day, centered on honoring the divine feminine and the vital role of mothers in families and communities. Organized as a collaboration between Heavenly Couples in Ministry (HCIM) and Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) Virginia, the meeting brought together participants from various regions in a spirit of love, unity, and spiritual reflection.

Facilitators Father Bayo and Ayano opened the gathering with a warm welcome, introducing the program’s theme and offering a gratitude prayer honoring mothers and women. The musical tribute “Shine On” set a joyful tone, followed by Margaret’s welcoming remarks that highlighted the day’s special focus on honoring Sister Adele Kima. Sister Teresa shared spiritual insights on motherhood and womanhood, reminding attendees of the sacred role of mothers in nurturing life and faith.

Theresa shared Bible verses that celebrated the dignity, strength, and selfless love of mothers. Her reading underscored mothers' God-given roles as nurturers, teachers, and spiritual anchors in the family. Emily followed with an empowering poem encouraging women to embrace their inner light and divine uniqueness, despite life’s challenges.

A major highlight of the event was the honoring of Sister Adele Kima, described by Margaret as a virtuous, joyful woman of strength and humility. Sister Sarah added heartfelt praise, highlighting Adele’s devotion to her son Manuel and her deep spiritual bond with her family and community.

Adele shared her personal journey of motherhood, which began in childhood as she cared for her brother’s children. She spoke movingly about raising a child with special needs and the grace and joy she found in that journey. Her testimony was a powerful reminder of the many forms motherhood can take.

Family and friends offered touching testimonials, calling Adele an exceptional mother, wife, and friend. Speakers from Cameroon, France, and beyond expressed their admiration in multiple languages, praising her nurturing nature, culinary skills, and the harmony she brings to every relationship.

Ayano shared reflections on the nurturing power of feminine intuition and the vital role mothers play in building peaceful families and communities. She introduced resources offered by WFWP, including educational programs, humanitarian initiatives, and the Global Women’s Peace Network. She also spoke about the Her Story Award, which celebrates women’s contributions to peace and reconciliation.

The meeting concluded with final reflections and blessings for mothers. Father Bayo read a poem honoring the divine feminine, and participants offered prayers and affirmations. Announcements were made for upcoming events, including a family celebration on May 17. The gathering closed with a Toast to True Motherhood, celebrating God's motherly nature expressed in all beings, and affirming the power of love, unity, and community.
