WFWP Colorado: Interfaith Discussions
The December Interreligious Sharing focused on the parables of Jesus, highlighting their enduring spiritual lessons across faith traditions. Jesus stands at the center of this holy season, and participants sought to honor him by reflecting on the profound meaning found within these deceptively simple teachings.
The topic was selected by the leader of Christian Science. It was especially meaningful that, without coordination, each faith tradition chose a different parable to present.
The following parables were shared:
Christian Science: The Wheat and the Tares (Matthew 13:26–30)
Baháʼí Faith: The Parable of the Sower (Matthew 13:1–23)
WFWP/UPF: The Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11–31)
Latter-day Saints: The Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14–30)
Baháʼí Faith: The Parable of the Tenants (Matthew 21:33–46)
Each faith leader took time to prepare and deliver a thoughtful and meaningful presentation. Participants gained new insights from each perspective, deepening mutual understanding and respect.
The gathering concluded with a shared prayer, followed by expressions of goodwill as participants wished one another a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
