Grand Valley Interfaith Thanksgiving Celebration – “Hope in Action
Written by : Gale Alves
On November 25, Gale and Antonio Alves participated in the annual Grand Valley Interfaith Thanksgiving Celebration, held at the American Lutheran Church in Grand Junction, Colorado. This year’s theme was “Hope in Action,” and twelve churches and community organizations were represented.
Gale was invited to speak on “Hope in Action” from the perspective of religious freedom. In her remarks, she shared about Mother Moon—the Mother of Peace—highlighting her lifelong commitment to building harmony among all people, as well as her unjust incarceration and the broader issue of religious persecution worldwide.
Several attendees approached Gale afterward to express their appreciation for her thoughtful presentation. Through this event, about fifty new people were introduced to Mother Moon’s vision and message.
Gale also shared several core teachings of the Mother of Peace, including:
- God-centered families are the foundation of lasting peace. -
God is our Heavenly Mother and Heavenly Father.
- Humanity should strive to remove barriers between races, cultures, and religions.
Although the photo taken does not capture everyone present, the evening was filled with a strong sense of unity, gratitude, and shared purpose.
