A BIG THANK YOU to Rev. Dr. Linda Nishikawa – A Leader of Deep Spirituality and Heart

Dr. Linda Lucero Nishikawa

It is with joy and gratitude that we honor Rev. Dr. Linda Lucero Nishikawa, our outgoing Women’s Federation for World Peace/Global Women’s Peace Network Western Regional Coordinator, who served in that role for the last five years (2018-2023).

Thanks to Dr. Linda’s exemplary leadership, the West Coast Region, one of the largest WFWP USA regions in the U.S., has been one of the most active, engaged, growing and successful regions in WFWP USA during these recent years.

From the moment of her appointment as the regional coordinator, Dr. Linda selflessly and passionately invested and devoted herself, her time, love, energy and prayers to serve the chapters and chairwomen in the region, supporting, uplifting and guiding them based on her deep spiritual wisdom and insights. She equally made a point of collaborating closely with the WFWP USA President and home office as well as other sister organizations in her region.

To mention a few highlights of Dr. Linda’s accomplishments:

  • She established new WFWP USA representatives in the states of Montana, Idaho, Hawaii, Utah, Colorado and Nevada.

  • In partnership with Dr. Angelika Selle, Dr. Linda started a bimonthly Interfaith Women’s Prayer Circle, which later focused on peace between Ukraine and Russia.

  • Dr. Linda was instrumental in supporting the five-region nationwide launch of the GWPN in 2018 and 2019.

  • Representing WFWP USA internationally in Seoul, Korea, Dr. Linda attended several World Peace Summits and WFWP International gatherings.

  • She contributed to special monthly prayer sessions for a unified Korea, together with regional leaders from the United States, Japan and Korea, in support of Mother Moon’s great concern for Korean reunification at this time.

As a Pueblo and Hunka Lakota, Dr. Linda often brought a strong Native presence to our programs by inviting Native women to our educational webinars, programs, activities, events and Bridge of Peace reconciliation gatherings, contributing Native prayers and culture.

Dr. Linda is also president of the  Sacred First Nations for Peace, a WFWP Global Friend.

For all these and many more outstanding WFWP/GWPN achievements and invaluable contributions, we sincerely applaud and congratulate Dr. Linda and wish her all the best in her next endeavors!
