Looking Back and Into the Future

Dear esteemed friends and readers of the Logic of Love News,

It was with deepest gratitude and a sense of accomplishment that, after 13 years of service, I was able to pass the baton to my next-generation successor, Mrs. Kaeleigh Moffitt, at our Presidential Transition Ceremony and Celebration. The event was held on February 11, 2023, at The Washington Times Ballroom in Washington, DC.

I was most moved and humbled to receive many accolades—so much praise, appreciation, and love—from the many leaders, associates, colleagues, and friends who spoke at this very beautifully prepared program. One special speaker took me by surprise, as she stopped by the program unannounced: Dr. Susan Johnson Cook, the former Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom in the Obama administration. She shared heartfelt and humbling remarks about me for the occasion.

In the transition ceremony, in my 12-minute address, "Looking Back and Into the Future," I recalled how in 2010 I began this important role and mission. At that time, I deeply studied the words of the co-founder, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, and asked our Creator how we could advance WFWP's already remarkable foundation and bring it to the next level. I received three clear points of inspiration, which, as I look back, have all come to pass, as well as so much more! And for that I am forever grateful!

I also would like to once again thank our WFWP co-founders, Dr. Moon and her late husband, Dr. Sun Myung Moon, for giving me the honor of serving as president of WFWP USA and vice president of WFWP North America over the past 13 years! It has been an incredibly rich, moving, and, yes, challenging path at times, meeting and working together with women and women leaders of all backgrounds and ages, from the local to the global levels.

We are so grateful to Mrs. Moffitt, a most qualified and visionary young woman leader and mother, who stepped up and stepped forward to continue and build on the legacy of those before her in WFWP! Mrs. Moffitt indeed has already created her own stellar track record of leadership in a variety of nonprofit organizations and has worked with public officials through the Universal Peace Federation, our sister organization. I felt from day one that our hearts and vision are from the same Source.

As she joined me on the stage, I passed to her a book recounting the 30 years of WFWP International's history, as a reminder of the foundation she is standing on. Then I presented her with an actual baton, signifying the authority and blessing of carrying on this important role of empowering women for peace leadership at this time of global crisis.

It is and will be my pleasure to support and empower her in this new role, as we all move forward to greater heights and greater development individually and collectively.

One more time, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all who have been walking this journey together with me over the last 13 years— to our readers, our wonderful donors, and the esteemed members of this great and growing organization!

THE BEST IS YET TO COME!

With gratitude and love,

Dr. Angelika Selle
