President’s Corner: Lunar New Year —Happy Birthday—New Beginnings

Dear Friends,

Happy Lunar New Year 2023!

As you may be aware, many countries all over the world celebrated the Lunar New Year's on January 22. Chinese astrology holds that this is the Year of the Black Water Rabbit, a symbol of good fortune, multiplication, diligence, peace, and prosperity. Two thousand twenty-three, then, is considered a year of hope. And may it be so for all of us, after having left behind a very challenging 2022!

On January 27 (January 6 on the lunar calendar), our beloved Co-founder, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, marked her 80th birthday, a milestone year in her amazing life lived for God and humanity!

We congratulate her on her outstanding accomplishments, unparalleled in human history, as a woman peace leader and so much more! I would like to invite every woman (and man) to read her autobiographical memoir Mother of Peace in order to get a more concrete idea of her life as well as the legacy she shares with her late husband, Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon, who would celebrate his 103rd birthday this year (he passed away in 2012).

A special celebratory banquet was held in South Korea on her birthday, with congratulatory video messages from heads of state and religious leaders from around the world, followed by a very brief but moving address by Mother Moon. She thanked all present profoundly and expressed her wish for everyone to become "lights of hope for humanity" as we pursue the creation of a world of lasting peace based on the vision of "One Family Under God."

As mentioned in a previous edition of the Logic of Love News, we in WFWP USA do feel an energy of hope and excitement in the air for this new year. We are looking forward to new developments and greater impact and progress, as we will also soon welcome our newly appointed WFWP USA president of the next generation, Mrs. Kaeleigh Moffitt. The official transition ceremony will be held on February 11, 2023 in Washington DC.

So, fasten your seatbelts and stay tuned for more news!

Here is to an amazing, fruitful, and joyous 2023 ahead!

Sincerely,

Angelika
