President’s Corner: 2023—A Year of Hope and New Growth

Dear friends,

Greetings in this brand-new year 2023!

I don't know about you, but I feel a very hopeful spirit in the air! Our Founder, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, in her brief New Year's address, expressed words of encouragement and hope. She asked everyone to leave behind all of 2022's unpleasant thoughts and memories—and there were all too many of these—and to welcome this new year with delight and excitement as we continue to pursue paths for lasting peace.

Since we believe that peace starts within, our editor, Yoshi Mori, has put together a New Year’s Challenge for us that may assist in identifying areas within ourselves that need improvements in order to create more peace in our lives! Please see below.

January also being the month in which Americans commemorate the example, philosophy, and accomplishments of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., I thank God for his life and inspiring words. They stimulate us all to pursue peace, justice, and nonviolence. I would like to encourage us to consider reading one of his books this month. A personal favorite of mine is Strength to Love, which is most relevant for our current times and for each of us to contemplate as we begin this new year.

On a different note, in this year's first edition of Logic of Love News, we are also happy to share with you our 2022 year-end impact report, listing many of last year's successes, which will all be the foundation for this year's even greater growth, expansion, and multiplication of our work.

A heartfelt Thank You therefore goes to all donors who made a special contribution to our end-of-the-year Giving Season Campaign to ensure we have the necessary resources for the continuation of our work for peace!! I truly thank you!

Here is to a great New Year ahead!

Sincerely,

Angelika Selle
