President's Corner: Women, Know Your Value!

Dear friends,

As we celebrated and uplifted women during March—Women's History Month—I cannot help but still think of the millions of women (and children) in Ukraine, who have had to leave their homes and husbands behind in order to survive, and whose lives have been changed forever.

For them, International Women's Day, March 8, which so many Ukrainian women used to very much enjoy celebrating, took on a whole different meaning. Here is a brief reflection we received from our WFWP President of Ukraine. Now a refugee, she sent this via WhatsApp, describing how she felt on that day and about that day:

“I love the holiday of March 8th. But today, probably for the first time on that day, I am not in a festive mood at all. The same goes for everyone around me. There is a war going on in our land, and the war has no days off or holidays. During these 13 days of the war, I re-evaluated many things. As a woman, I love beautiful things, and especially jewelry. Last year, on March 8th, my husband gave me a beautiful necklace and set of earrings, as well as a huge bouquet of flowers.

But when we urgently evacuated with the children on the 7th day of the war, I was allowed to take only a small bag with me, so that it would be convenient to run, and hold my youngest daughter in my other hand.... Therefore, I did not take any clothes, jewelry, or shoes with me, not even shampoo...And then I realized that I did not need that much. After all, the main thing is that I had children with me.

Happy March 8th to all of us, and, most importantly, victory and success!”
—Anna Kalmatskaya

On this last day of March, I would like to give a shout out to all those mothers on the front lines, in refugee camps, in hospitals, and unimaginable situations, for their bravery, resilience, love, and strength. The logic of love keeps them going!!!

We love you and pray for you!!

And there is so much more that women (often quietly) contribute to bring kindness, peace, and wholeness to the world, without which our globe would be even more out of balance than it already is.

Would you therefore not agree that women stand on an equal footing with men, holding up the other half of the world? Our Women's Federation for World Peace Founder, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, in her October 27, 2012, speech "Women as the Turning Point of Peace" put it this way: "We women were not put on earth merely to help, or to be protected, by men. We are independent individuals who, as representatives of the feminine aspect of God's nature, are meant to help men become more complete. Through true love, women are to be men's precious partners in love. Men and women are absolutely equal in terms of value."

So, dear women, know your value! We don't have to prove it to anyone, because this value has already been given to us by our Creator. Therefore, it is time to let our light shine even more!

May I, therefore, personally invite you to join our wonderful organization of women (and supportive men) motivated by the Logic of Love to bring about a Turning Point for Peace and become a paying member today?!

Let us join hands together to make a difference!

Sincerely,

Angelika
