President's Corner: It's all about love

Dear friends,

It's all about lovetrue love—in this edition of the Logic of Love Newsletter!

In one article, we commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK Jr. Day was on January 17), whose legacy will remain alive here in America forever. Why? He was a man of agape love, promoting nonviolence and living the reconciliation message of Christ, leading by his own example. In addition, we continue to express love and appreciation during this month of February—Black History Month—to all our Black brothers and sisters here in America, who are an integral and invaluable part of the fabric of the United States.

We pray that in the very near future, all racial divisions can be resolved and that we can truly become ONE NATION in heart under God.

We also highlight in several articles the importance of self-love for women (as opposed to selfish love) for taking care of ourselves as the first and foremost priority. The reason for self-care? So that we may serve, uplift, guide, educate, and lead our families and communities more joyfully and effectively.

A separate article explains how we recently introduced the Cornerstone for Peace Seminar. This creation of the Women's Federation for World Peace delves into husband-and-wife love. It is based on WFWP's new perspective on marriage and a path to a healthy and happy family.

Love is also the central theme of the hit Korean drama series "Crash Landing on You." The series served as the backdrop for a Global Women's Peace Network mini talk show featuring the drama's assistant screenwriter. Our online webinar was aimed at understanding daily life in North Korea. Love can build a bridge.

True Love has been the lifelong message and lifestyle of WFWP's Co-founders, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon and her late husband, the Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon, whose birthdays we are celebrating this February 6! (Yes, both are on the same day!)

We congratulate Mother Moon from the bottom of our hearts for her unprecedented and extraordinary accomplishments as a major woman peace leader of our time, and we hope for her continued good health and long and fruitful life!

We women in the United States stand with her and commit to the same cause of making peace a reality in ourselves, our families, communities, nation, and the world now and in the years to come!

With this, I wish you again a HAPPY NEW YEAR 2022. This is appropriate because the lunar New Year started on February 1. It begins the year of the Black Water Tiger, according to Oriental tradition.

So, watch out, and get ready for a year full of energy, strength, passion, and leadership—one that includes mama tigers!

Best wishes!

Angelika
