Welcoming New WFWP Chairwoman in the Bronx, New York

We are excited to inform you of a recent development in the Northeast Region’s WFWP leadership. Mrs. Lorna Galvan will be stepping into the role of Chairwoman for a WFWP Bronx Chapter. Though there has not been a WFWP Chapter in the Bronx for quite some time, we are looking forward to supporting Mrs. Galvan (who was also formerly Chairwoman in the Bronx) as she revives the chapter and initiates what will be many new and exciting activities.

Read below for Mrs. Galvan’s brief bio. She brings to this role a passion for supporting the work of WFWP and a deep heart of love for others.

Shortly after WFWP’s founding in 1992, Mrs. Galvan was appointed as Chairwoman for the Bronx Chapter of the Women’s Federation for World Peace. After serving in that role for a few years, Mrs. Galvan moved on to focus on co-pastoring with her husband, Esteban, at the Bronx Family Church and raising their two sons. Mrs. Galvan has served in a variety of roles including for the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company, George Washington University, the National Archives, and the Chief Postal Inspectors’ Department in Washington of the USPS. She also has experience teaching seminars on God and spirituality with CARP (the Collegiate Association of the Research of Principles) for students from the former Soviet Union. She is currently studying to be an Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor at Lehman College in the Bronx. She is looking forward to reviving the Bronx Chapter and again serving as Chairwoman. Mrs. Galvan also brings with her a passion for loving others, especially those who have historically been marginalized.
