How Far we have come—A Reflection by Angelika Selle

The 2021 WFWP International General Assembly was a rich and inspiring experience. For me personally, this assembly represented a huge spark of hope in the midst of the challenging times of Covid, where positive vibes and actions of goodness are needed like fresh air!

This year's two day annual online convention was indeed unique and powerful, and well organized by Intl. Secretary General Dr. Paris Moon and Intl. HQ staff, as it drew more than 621 participants from 83 countries around the world, including WFWP leaders, members, associates and new friends.

As always, the opening remarks of both our Intl. President Dr. Julia Moon, and Intl. Sr. Vice President Dr. Sun Jin Moon, set the tone with their uplifting, inspiring and empowering words from the heart of the Founder and their own hearts! They sincerely thanked and acknowledged the tremendous efforts invested into WFWP by all women over this last year.

And truly so much was accomplished in only ONE YEAR!!

Instead of highlighting and discussing each component of the two day conference here, I would like to direct you to read the article on our WFWP international website: CLICK HERE

In addition, to get a true sense and understanding of the breadth and depth of the accomplishments, I personally would like to invite you to take some time and actually view the event recordings yourself:

You will find two excellent public webinars on entrepreneurship and reconciliation and an overview report of WFWP activities in regions around the world.

It is amazing what women can do and have been able to accomplish over this last year and over the years, when working together in harmony beyond differences!

WFWP International has indeed come a very long way, as we approach the 30th Anniversary mark in 2022!

Whereas this amazing organization, an NGO in General Consultative Status, is entirely based on the philosophy of "Living for the Sake of others" and Living By the Logic of Love motivated by the motherly heart, it has an impressive track record of accomplishments.

For many years, the full impact and influence of WFWP chapters worldwide (190 and 35 in the US) has not been so visible, because each region, state and country started up from modest beginnings, with love, service and sacrifice of women and mothers who were motivated by the founder's vision for peace and were willing to volunteer and invest.

Each region of the world and nation started out humbly, and over time developed grassroot activities based on the needs of the people in that society and part of the world. The only two major common projects world wide were: The Schools of Africa Project and the Bridge of Peace Project! Yet, WFWP has so much going on at the local levels.

Finally, these remarkable and impactful accomplishments of our WFWP chapters became more visible on our new WFWP international website, created by the UN team in NYC in close collaboration with the home, office team in Korea!!

It felt like a big surprise was hidden under the sea level, and is now emerging as a beautiful network for peace for others to see, to feel and to find hope in and to get engaged with.

Deepest gratitude to all who paved the way before us, especially our beloved founder and role model, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, who is the wind beneath our wings. We are all in our own way, the wind beneath each other's wings. Let’s continually push forward toward a culture of lasting peace, mutual prosperity, interdependence and universally shared values—until the job is done.

Here is to the upcoming 30th Anniversary in 2022!
