WFWP Midwest Region joins ACLC Chicago for Founders’ Birthday Celebration: "Their teaching of love continues to radiate"

The freezing, wet and hazardous weather in Chicago on Saturday, January 25, 2020, was not a deterrent or hindrance to the anticipation for the birthday celebration for the founders of WFWP, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon and Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon. WFWP supported this celebratory breakfast event, which was sponsored by the American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC), another organization founded by Father and Mother Moon.

WFWP was eager to greet many members from Chicago and other areas to show our bond and respect for our founders. Approximately 125 faithful well-wishers embellished an atmosphere of warmth and birthday cheer at Life Center COGIC (Church of God in Christ), hosted by Pastor T. L. Barrett and First Lady Cleo Barrett.

In keeping with the traditional agenda of an ACLC Prayer Breakfast, individuals were asked to offer up a prayer for the city, state and the nation. I accepted the request to pray for our nation, the United States of America.

This was followed by several speakers. Pastor Helen Cooper, of the Westside Center of Truth, spoke briefly of her experience with ACLC. “I am proud to be one of only a few female ministers present at the inauguration of ACLC, founded by Mother and Father Moon,” shared Rev. Cooper. “Their teaching of love continues to radiate in my ministry of over 46 years.”

Representing the Neighborhood Network Ministry, Evangelist Joy Sigur-Ramza was also asked to give her reflections. Then Soogin Ogden, of the Chicago Family Church, recited the ACLC Mission Statement.

As the WFWP Midwest Regional Director, I was delighted to see our Midwest leaders Kathryn Davis, GWPN Illinois Coordinator, Patricia Fliginger, WFWP Advisor, Noriko Ogden, WFWP Finance, Maria and John Acevedo, our Hispanic Ministry, ACLC Women In Ministry and others who often support WFWP activities held in the Chicago area. We came as sisters and brothers giving appreciation for Godly parents who teach the “Logic of Love” as spiritual food for the sustainability of humankind, to live in PEACE within our families, community and the world.

Later in the program, we watched two short videos about Father and Mother Moon’s global ministry, which included Father Moon’s calling from God early in life, their married life, children, and Mother Moon’s recent world peace tours.

The celebration was concluded with a beautiful birthday cake dedicated to our Founders and all those celebrating a January birthdate. As with many celebrations around the world, WFWP Midwest is proud and honored to collaborate and share our tools that motivate, educate, and create a culture of heart.
