TIME TO COOL OFF WITH A SMOOTHIE

Chocolate Berry Smoothie

(Recipes taken from Martin Reilly’s “Memory Repair Protocol”)

Man is it hot and muggy where I live! In Arizona where my sister lives, she says it’s 110 degrees Fahrenheit! Yikes, that sounds really hot. But it is dry out there, they say, so it’s not as unbearable? My sister doesn’t agree! Well, 110 degrees sounds unbearably hot to me, even without the humidity.

So in this crazy weather, we are always looking for something to help cool us off. I thought some smoothie recipes would be appreciated by our readers, so here are a few. They make take time to prepare, but oh are they worth it, when the liquid soothes our parched throats!

Here’s a good one: Chocolate Berry Smoothie
1 cup frozen blueberries
2 teaspoons cocoa powder
1 cup coconut milk (rice or almond milk works fine as well)
¼ teaspoon vanilla essence
Pinch of cinnamon
2 teaspoons honey

Simply place all ingredients into a blender and turn it on! Blend until smooth and creamy. Put into your favorite glass and enjoy.

Or if you are not a chocolate fan, here’s one: Beetroot Smoothie
½ cup frozen pineapple
1 medium beetroot
1 red apple
½ chopped celery
1 cup water

Put them into the blender and turn it on until it is smooth and ready to quench your thirst for cool!
