Join the 2022 Community Challenge
This year Women’s Federation for World Peace in Anchorage, AK will be helping to coordinate volunteer activities in support of the homeless community. Take positive action to support your local community by signing up for a volunteer opportunity below:
Option 1: Volunteer to assemble and pack “Move Out Kits” for people moving from homeless shelters to long term supportive housing in Anchorage, AK.
This entails being able to drive to a 2 to 4 hour volunteer session with a small group of people to pack kits. Weekly Zoom check-ins for volunteers at Wednesday at 10:00 AM Alaska time. Zoom meeting ID: 524 893 9714. Call Donna Avey at 907-301-4421 for the password.
Option 2: Become a direct Peer Support Volunteer, to assist someone transitioning from a homeless shelter to long term supportive housing in Anchorage, AK.
This role requires orientation and training.

HerStory Award Recipient
Heidi Lieb-Williams was awarded the HerStory Award at the National HerStory Award launch of the Global Women's Peace Network on February 26, 2022, for her exemplary commitment to being an advocate and voice for those with disabilities, encouraging others to use their unique talents to achieve their dreams.
Heidi Lieb-Williams is currently the Chair of Alaska’s Governor’s Council for Disabilities and Special Education and GCDSE Executive committee. She serves as a member of the Intellectual/Developmental Disability & Mental Health (IDD-MH) Advisory Council, and the Special Education Advisory Panel (SEAP).
