Our Upstate New York WFWP chapter was thrilled to welcome our WFWP president to speak on July 10 at a meeting at the Unification Theological Seminary in Barrytown, N.Y., from 1-3 p.m.

Forty sisters—from young to older—came, including a group that drove down from Albany for the event.

After a delicious salmon and sushi pot-luck lunch, President Angelika Selle provided a deep and comprehensive overview of the vision and activities of WFWP USA, using a PowerPoint format. Our audience was taken with the warmth, authenticity, and prayerful and dedicated spirit of the presentation.

All present were impressed by the many activities, outreach, and hands-on work that WFWP is doing throughout America. Especially moving were the reports of our WFWP members serving areas of immediate need, such as with tsunami victims in Japan and tornado victims in Missouri. We were also inspired that some chapters were serving our youth through abstinence programs (e.g., the Clean Slate program in Los Angeles).

We were encouraged to hear of the organization's growth, with chapters starting up in Arizona, and new offices opening in New Jersey and Las Vegas.

Many sisters (and also a handful of men who were present) commented on how they felt a warm, fresh breeze flowing into our hearts as we observed and listened to the talk. Being given this infusion of energy, love, hope, and peace, our chapter is now ready to turn around and give of ourselves to others.

As a result of our meeting, several new sisters signed up as full-time dues-paying members of WFWP. And groups of sisters were excitedly making plans together to attend the "hottest event of the year," the upcoming National Assembly in October.

After her talk concluded, it seemed to President Selle that it was just the right time for her to engage everyone in a round of the special exercises performed daily by the WFWP's founder's husband, the Rev. Sun Myung Moon. This too, was very educational, as President Angelika led by example to help us all become beautiful and healthy inside and out.

After this talk, we truly feel more enlightened and united as sisters, mothers, wives, and daughters of God. We are ready to creatively work together to help create a stronger and stronger foundation for our beloved WFWP here in Upstate New York!
