Sun Myung Moon and his wife Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, with an emphasis on "HerStory," were in for day of education and healing. The theme of the seminar was spirituality and healing in action, particularly as it applies to women's growth and the development of healthy families. Mrs. Angelika Selle, President of Women's Federation for World Peace USA, spoke on "Women as the Turning Point in History," depicting women's history to date, in the context of famous women who were misunderstood or ignored yet had still made a difference. In that context, Mrs. Selle shared about the purpose and founding of WFWP in 1992, when Rev. and Dr. Moon proclaimed the arrival of a New Era of Women and the need for women's leadership worldwide. WFWP USA Vice President Mrs. Juanita Pierre-Louis, in her warm and personal way, introduced the "Principles of Creation" as they apply to physical and spiritual health. The Rev. Dr. Gilda Price spoke on the "Cause of Human Suffering – Unlocking the Secret," passionately explaining how premature and selfish sexual relationships are at the root of societal problems, and how they cause immense suffering to this day.To prove the truth of this, Mr. Richard Panzer, founder and Executive Director of the Institute for Relationship Intelligence, Inc., shared about the sad reality today of young men and women engaging in premature sex and the sad statistics that stem from that. Chicago, Illinois was host to the WFWP National Vice-President, Juanita Pierre-Louis on February second and third. A Spirituality, Healing, and Service program was held by the Chicago Chapter of WFWP and was co-sponsored by the American Clergy Leadership Conference in Chicago. Many women clergy were in attendance. Owing to extreme cold with delayed travel time, the program began a little late, but the room, beautifully decorated by Fannie Smith and her team to reflect Black History Month, was soon filled with a powerful healing spirit. Rev. Helen Cooper, Pastor of the Westside Center of Truth, offered the opening prayer and then we shared refreshments and each person introduced themselves. We were entertained by Evangelist Rita Pritchett and her accompanist, Evangelist Pam Woods. They performed one of Dr. Martin Luther King's favorite songs. Fannie Smith served as the emcee and gave a short bio of Juanita also mentioning some of her future plans. Juanita shared an in-depth presentation on women's health, healing, and spirituality as well as offering advice for family life. The handout packets she brought were handed out, and Juanita gave a PowerPoint presentation explaining the meaning and purpose of the Marriage Blessing. Patricia Fliginger introduced WFWP and invited all to join either outright or on a trial basis. Several ladies became members right then and there. To conclude, we were treated to another musical selection; we raffled off donated items allowing everyone to choose their own prize, and finally took a group picture. Women gathering as friends and mothers engaged in the spirit healing each other and our families provided a more personal experience and nourished us as mothers to take on any challenges that await us together. Then on February third, Juanita met with WFWP Chicago members and prospective members. Juanita spoke deeply on spirituality and healing, marriage,…

Excitement and electricity were in the air as members of the Atlanta chapter of WFWP gathered together to revisit the critical importance of sexual abstinence before marriage as a necessary step for character building. They also sought to educate parents on how to build a supportive family environment for their teens and single young adult children who have decided to stay pure before marriage. The stirring event took place on January 26 at the Atlanta Family Church. Among the 55 women, also some men, in attendance were Sen. Donzella James, Rep. Sheila Jones, Rev. Samuel F. Mosteller, Apostle Willie Malcolm, Mrs. Richadean Anderson, and Ms. Rena Moroquin. The audience, who were eager to hear what we were about to share, were greeted by our emcee of the day, Ms. Rena Moroquin. She asked Apostle Willie Malcolm to open with a word of prayer and Pastor Tiffany Gaines gave a wonderful welcome to all. An opportunity was given to all special guests to come forward and offer their words of support. Rev. Samuel Mosteller gave an eye-opening five-minute presentation about the fall of the Roman Empire, saying it did not fall because it was defeated by a more powerful enemy, but because of the sexual promiscuity within. Georgia state Sen. Donzella James spoke of the last 20 years of knowing our movement and still being moved by Rev. Dr. Sun Myung and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon's call for purity and family. Georgia state Rep. Sheila Jones talked about the soaring rates of out-of-wedlock pregnancies that face our communities. We had more words of support from other special guests. Our MC, Ms. Moroquin, kept the pace moving with a youth group from Rev. Knox's church that sang a song. After this, it was time for the main message, titled "The New Paradigm…

On March 10, 2012, the New Jersey chapter organized a Bridge of Peace Ceremony at Essex County College in Newark. WFWP leaders and members recognize the need for healing of the historical, cultural, and racial problems in the U.S. to better clear the way for the peacemaking work of our Founders in this new era. The goal is to heal the heart and the spirit and create peaceful relationships in the U.S. First, some background. In February 2011, New Jersey started out with an interracial Bridge of Peace Ceremony held in Elizabeth. At this event, one white sister was so moved by the spiritual atmosphere that she offered a full prostrate bow to all the black sisters in the room. Many of those black sisters testified they felt "something left their bodies that day." It was and still is important for white sisters (whether they are historically connected to slavery or not) to repent in heart on behalf of their race for bringing slavery to America and failing to end it. It was also important for African descendants to forgive those sisters standing in the position of the ones who brought so much pain. Many religious and government leaders attended this event, including the mayor of Elizabeth, who presented a proclamation along with three other mayors. Then, on September 25, 2011, New Jersey held an interfaith Bridge of Peace. It, too, was a beautiful event that reconciled historical pain. Everyone present proudly represented her own faith and at the same time was willing to bond in sisterhood with those of other faiths. At this event, President Obama's adviser on Hindu affairs, Anju Bhargava, was the guest speaker. The Bridge of Peace Ceremony addressed the reality of how religion plays an integral role in the divisions that exist in this nation…

Human Rights: Awakening the Dignity of Women September 24 - 26, 2010 With a call for inner transformation as the springboard to social and political leadership, the Reverend In Jin Moon exhorted women leaders at the 18th Annual Assembly of the Women's Federation for World Peace (WFWP) Sept. 25, 2010 in Manhattan. She expressed the importance of realizing a new role for women in this age, which can be achieved through understanding their worth as divine beings. "If we are going to build a world that is free from violence and hatred, then we need to start with ourselves. We need to decide to be that agent of change. We need to realize that it is within our power to raise [a] generation of peace." She went on to say that, "In order to reclaim dignity, women throughout history have had to dig in the soil that has been hostile to women. However, our true dignity in fact comes from God regardless of our race, cultural background." In Jin Moon and Graciela RompaniRev. Moon argued that women must have a voice and a presence in all venues of life, certainly in the context of family, but also in society, politics, religion, and economics. However, "why do women need to be the position of leadership?" she asked, answering: "To show the world how they can be guided through compassionate leadership. We as women are the nurturers, we are the guides; we are the ones that empower and give our children the confidence to succeed. " Rev. Moon also spoke about her work visiting congressmen and senators on Capitol Hill to urge their attention to the plight of Unificationist women suffering abduction in Japan and their subsequent abuse by professional faith-breakers. She mentioned that abuse includes rape and torture during the last…
