CONGRATULATORY REMARKS FROM REP. SHEILA JONES OF THE GEORGIA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

"Good morning. I am a member of the Georgia House of Representatives with 180 members in the House and 56 members of the Senate. I am delighted to be here at the 20th Anniversary of Women's Federation for World Peace (WFWP).

Let me first say thank you to Angelika Selle, president of WFWP USA and Nandi Moton Chairwoman of the WFWP Georgia Chapter.

I am honored to recognize a world-renowned leader for her work to encourage and empower women to be agents of peace in their community and our world. In the world today, humanity face many adversities such as hunger, poverty and war. It seems that all you hear on the news or read about online is the desperation being experienced throughout the hundreds of countries on this planet.

But there is hope. Our world's problems are not permanent and are not impossible to overcome. Through hard work we can change the path that humanity takes from one of despair and struggle to one of prosperity and cooperation.

Today I congratulate Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon towards helping humanity get on the right path.

One of her major accomplishments was founding the WFWP in 1992. In 20 years, the organization has expanded with chapters in more than 120 countries and has dispatched volunteers world wide for developmental projects aimed at freedom from poverty based on local needs, fighting for peace and fighting the AIDS epidemic.

Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon personal struggles have shaped who she is. She has demonstrated that working with people of all ideologies, creeds, colors, ages, social class and backgrounds is both necessary and possible. Her legacy of working across all lines is something that I strive to emulate in my work as a State Representative.

Since WFWP was founded it has shared words that help us to illuminate our path towards a better world with better people striving for better goals.

I am humbled and honored to Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon and thank you for giving us the right direction to follow.
