AMERICA IS GOD'S HOPE AND SO ARE WE!

As a follow-up program to the God's Hope for America nationwide prayer ground tour that concluded on August 3 and that WFWP participated in, the D.C. metro area chapters held an educational seminar entitled, "Putting Principles of Peace Into Action."

Altogether 25 people, including the two presenters, Mrs. Dawn Bacchus and WFWP USA President Angelika Selle -- men, women, and young ladies -- gathered at the Melford Family Education Center in Bowie, Maryland on Saturday morning July 26 to learn about these Principles of Peace, which also under-gird WFWP and the greater Unification Movement. A Japanese children's choir opened the seminar, warming everyone's hearts and thus creating a beautiful atmosphere.

Mrs. Selle introduced the topic, explaining how we are God's Hope for America. She gave an overview of how we can resolve all social ills as well as personal issues by applying and living by the Principles of Peace or Unification Principles introduced by our founders. They are tools, she said, available for such a time as this -- tools that can enlighten and strengthen any individual to become an instrument and agent of peace in the family, community, and nation of America.

Dr. Bacchus, in a very passionate, concise, and inspiring way, then presented two sessions via a colorful PowerPoint presentation. One was the "Principles of Creation," God's original plan and God's Heart. The second was how the plan was derailed. Some participants were moved to tears! After each session there was a 15-minute discussion in which all participants formed smaller groups and discussed one point of the lecture as it applies to their own life.

The final presentation, given by Mrs. Selle, explained the Principles of Restoration, Re-Creation, and Reconciliation, including practical pointers about self-change. She also touched on the new era we live in and how our founders, Father and Mother Moon, have opened the way to build marriages and families that last.

Among the participants was a young lady visiting from California, who had come from a very painful personal background, as she had lost her mother at age 12. Her father, who is Iranian, then put her in a Catholic boarding school in the Bay Area. She commented that, being in this seminar, she felt tremendous peace and relaxation, like never before in her life, as if she were "in heaven" with the love of so many "moms" and "dads."
