Costa Rica 2011

It was a day of theological reflection, testimonies, war stories, proclamations, calls for action, service awards, tearful embraces, networking, elegant dining, and lots of music and dancing. Women leaders from North and South America were urged to become agents of change and to join a quiet revolution of love that will lead to a "generation of peace" by the Reverend In Jin Moon at a day-long conference, held on Jan 21, 2011, by the Women's Federation for World Peace (WFWP) in San Jose, Costa Rica. Rev. Angelika Selle, president of the WFWP USA introduced Rev. Moon by noting that Rev. Moon has many professional accomplishments, including music producer, recording artist, ordained minister, and corporate CEO, but when asked about her proudest accomplishment, she replied: "that I have five beautiful munchkins."…
Brief Remarks by Mrs. Graciella Rompani de Pacheco Former First Lady of Uruguay It is a great honor for me to have been named by Rev. In Jin Moon to address such a selective audience. This conference was very special; it took place in Costa Rica as a symbol of peace, democracy, and freedom. I want to especially greet the International President of WFWP Prof. Lan Young Moon whom I met previously in my country. I fortunately see her once or twice a year somewhere in the world. I must congratulate Mrs. Angelika Selle and all the staff for the organization of this event. As you can see, the congress under Rev. In Jin Moon's wings are very different from others. There was a very special energy I felt that…
Remarks of the Hon. Ellen Sauerbrey on Jan. 22, 2011 to the Women's Federation for World Peace Assembly in San Jose Costa Rica. I am honored to be here and to have the opportunity to share with such a distinguished group of women my passion about the issue of the family. I admire WFWP for your commitment to the family and your recognition that the stable family is where citizens are produced. The family is the foundation of the social order. It is the place where the character traits necessary to build free societies and a peaceful world are forged. President Bush said that the character of a nation "begins in the home." During my years at the Department of State, I undertook to make the United States a leader…
San Jose, Costa Rica January 21-22, 2010 Costa Rica, the "Rich Coast," was indeed the perfect setting for God to plant a seed of love, unity and co-operation between North, Central and South America with more than 500 people from Costa Rica and around the world attending the international conference "The Role of Women's Leadership in the 21st Century". And indeed, the entire weekend was very rich in spirit, warmth, love and joy, and the experience of family! Our organizing team was surprised by and almost unprepared for the kind of response we received, especially from women leaders in Latin America, who poured in to the last moment. On the evening before the conference, the spirit was already very high, warm and embracing as 150 women leaders gathered in the…
