Bridge of Peace and PowerPoint presentation held in Columbus, Ohio, May 4, 2013 On Saturday, May 4th, 2013, the WFWP Columbus chapter held a Bridge of Peace and PowerPoint presentation with the Women's Auxiliary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Groveport Ohio. Since last year we have been visiting each other and agreed to hold a Bridge of Peace between our groups, but a convenient time could never be found. Finally, when the leader of the Ahmadiyya group invited us to one of their meetings, we suggested that this would be a wonderful opportunity to have our Bridge of Peace together. In Celebration of Women's History Month, the Ohio Chapter of WFWP held a program called "Her Story: A Divine Principle Perspective". This was modeled after our WFWP USA's President, Angelika Selle's successful program. However, we changed the power point to include founding Mothers of different religions. Thank you to Marcia for working so hard to develop the power point. We had this event on March 23, from 7-9 pm, at 4303 Indianola Ave. Columbus, Ohio. It was a rather last minute decision to have this event; yet all WFWP members worked well together and I am very grateful that everyone came to support the event. Since returning from North Carolina, and giving the WFWP Sunday Service in Cary, I felt totally inspired that we have a WFWP Sunday Service in Columbus, Ohio. We all discussed this, in one of our meetings, and decided to proceed. We felt it was high time that the feminine aspect of God was acknowledged!! Our beloved True Mother is calling on all of us women to take leadership roles seriously, and based upon her vision, we went forward to plan and conquer!! With love and heart, of course!!! WFWP sponsored our first Treasures of Heaven Christmas Party, on Dec. 24, at 3-5, at our church, in Columbus, Ohio. Treasures of Heaven, is the name given to our "Special Needs" Ministry, by Hyung Jin Moon. Given the challenges and unique situations of our families who have a child, or a member of their family with Autism, Down syndrome, or other disabilities, we really wanted to have a party to bring joy to all!! As we were planning the party, the idea came up to have some kind of dance. One of our members, Natalyia, has a friend who is Russian Jewish. In a display of the truth that people can reconcile their differences, the WFWP Ohio Chapter held a Bridge of Peace* ceremony, symbolically bringing together women of different faiths. In the ceremony, women representing historical enemies start on opposite sides of a makeshift bridge set up on a stage, then walk toward each other, crossing the bridge together and joining in the middle. Sheik Yusuf Estes, a prominent American-born Islamic speaker, and his wife were attendants at the event. Sheik Yusuf presented an introduction to the Muslim faith.
