Unificationists and their flower-loving friends will have an opportunity to get hands on-instruction in the Japanese art of Ikebana, or flower arranging, at two make-and-take demonstrations in New York and New Jersey on Memorial Day weekend. Madame Yukiyo Sakata of Tokyo, a longtime supporter of the Japanese Women's Federation for World Peace (WFWP) will explain how to create designs of flowers and foliage that express discreetly defined moods. Ms. Sakata will do a demonstration from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., May 26, 2012 at Lovin' Life Church, 78 DeMott Avenue, in Clifton, New Jersey 07011. The New Jersey chapter has recently concluded its first prayer study group of the new year, facilitated by Mrs. Marguerite Dabis. Every Wednesday at 11am – 12:30 pm, five participants regularly attended in the WFWP reading room at 521 Van Houten Avenue in Clifton, NJ. Each session began with a reading and discussion of a chapter of the book, "The Power of Praying for Your Adult Children", from the series of books written by Mrs. Stormie Omartian. The text is superbly composed and offers deep insights, with many personal experiences and examples of how the author, as a mother together with her "prayer partners," turned tragic situations in the lives of their children, into triumphs. The book teaches the parent how to be detailed and specific in one's conversation with God, regarding the very real…
On March 10, 2012, the New Jersey chapter organized a Bridge of Peace Ceremony at Essex County College in Newark. WFWP leaders and members recognize the need for healing of the historical, cultural, and racial problems in the U.S. to better clear the way for the peacemaking work of our Founders in this new era. The goal is to heal the heart and the spirit and create peaceful relationships in the U.S. First, some background. In February 2011, New Jersey started out with an interracial Bridge of Peace Ceremony held in Elizabeth. At this event, one white sister was so moved by the spiritual atmosphere that she offered a full prostrate bow to all the black sisters in the room. Many of those black sisters testified they felt "something left…

New Jersey Dance Party

February 24th, 2012
On February 24, WFWP NJ embarked on a mission to host an event for young women. Two wonderful sisters, Dawn and Meadow Haider, who previously came to a WFWP meeting, were so inspired that they volunteered to put on this event to introduce WFWP to other young women. About 18 ladies were in attendance plus staff. Dawn Haider conducted an icebreaker, after which Meadow Haider gave a deep opening speech about WFWP's relevance at this time.  Denneze Nelson shared personally about her experiences with the Founders of WFWP at a breakfast table. The ladies were in awe and were very touched. It was such a lovely event and with dancing afterward.  Several young ladies came and asked what they could do to help.  WFWP New Jersey plans to have bimonthly events with the…
Councilman Manuel R. Grova of Elizabeth, New Jersey, has commended a local nonprofit organization, the Women's Federation for World Peace (WFWP), for voluntarily cleaning up Jackson Park every week since July. "Since the ladies of the Women's Federation for World Peace started coming to the park on Sunday afternoons in July, it has become a much cooler venue for citizens, and I want to do my part," said Grova. "The men and women who volunteer for this effort are showing ownership of their little corner of the universe, and that's a good thing. The long-term result of this kind of effort is that crime will go down, property values will rise, and Elizabeth, New Jersey, will become a place where more people will want to live. The neighborhood will be…
